Respiratory Pressure
Respiratory pressure meters can measure inspiratory and expiratory mouth pressures (MIP/MEP) and Sniff Nasal Pressures (SNIP) all in one easy to instrument. These noninvasive measurements of respiratory muscle strength are invaluable in monitoring patients with COPD, or those suffering neurological or muscular diseases that will affect respiratory muscle function. The deterioration of respiratory muscles can lead to increasing levels of dyspnea, disability, and eventual dependence on mechanical ventilation.
